Civic Innovation Lab + Pitch Competition

Civic Innovation Lab + Pitch Competition:
Immigration, the Economy, and the American WorkForce

The challenges of immigration policy have led to outright turmoil in Washington and has had a trickle-down effect on states across the nation. The Dreamers… chain immigration… merit-based policies. Politicians are trying to find a way to protect our nation and balance America’s humanitarian responsibilities.

In this lab we will explore the Impact of Immigration Policy on the American Economy and Workforce. Conservatives, centrists, and liberals alike will discuss the challenges and opportunities America faces. Teams of civic leaders will convene to bring local, bipartisan perspectives as well as an imperative to innovate, on a key immigration challenge within a day and a half. The lab will culminate in a pitch competition, Sunday, June 17, 2018. The panel of judges including representatives from both elected offices and leading nonprofits will evaluate solutions based on presentation, viability, innovation, the degree to which it addresses the challenge and its potential for impacting its target constituency. The winning team will be granted an audience with first adopters and given a chance to advance their solution. Learn more about How Innovation Labs Work.
