The Art of Fermentation

 Special Guest: Sandor Ellix Katz

Lecture, book signing, and hands-on workshop

Come learn how simple it is to make your own kimchi, kefir, and other fermented delicacies. Learn about the healing qualities and nutritional importance of live-culture ferments, as well as their illustrious history and integral role in human cultural evolution. Empower yourself with simple techniques for fermenting these healthful foods in your home. Be part of the fermentation revival!

Sandor Katz’s latest book, The Art of Fermentation, is already being billed as a New York Times bestseller.  And our Sept 19 event will be Mr Katz’s only Southern Calfornia appearance on this autumn’s tour.

It promises to be a packed event:  Mr Katz will speak a bit about fermentation, then lead a hands-on workshop where we will each make a jar of lacto-fermented vegetables (precise recipe to be determined by Mr Katz).  Bring your own cutting board, chef’s knife, grater if you have one.  If you have organic carrots, cabbages, onions, garlic, bring ‘em along.  We will supply mason jars, salt and some vegetables.
