Have you heard of the term ‘smart city’? Maybe you saw an IBM advertisement about creating a smarter planet, or maybe your mayor has implemented a smart city digital strategy. Perhaps you heard that TED named ‘The City 2.0’ as the winner of their global award this year, or then again, you could be a citizen who has written or used a city-based app for a smart-phone or other device.

Whatever your relation with the topic, it is increasingly obvious that creating a ‘smart city’ , ‘intelligent city’ or the ‘city 2.0’ is a growing meme for creatives, government, urban leaders, think-tanks, and technologists.

That is why we are gathering you - LA’s thinkers, tinkers and makers to re-imagine LA for the digital age. During the Incubator we will be giving cutting-edge examples from other cities, and rapidly prototyping (on paper initially - no coding skills required) a series of next-generation solutions aimed at using the technologies of our time to improve our great city and support a high quality of life in the digital age.

So join the Smart Cities Incubator on Saturday March 24 at USC Annenberg Innovation Lab (lunch included). Meet other LA innovators and together explore new ideas for making our city an even better place to live, work, and play.
