About TEDxUCLA

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

The inaugural TEDxUCLA event took place on June 18, 2011, with the theme of Minding, Mining, Mending, Mapping.  Over 15 distinguished speakers, including the global collaboration Culturehub, took to the stage in front of a crowd of over 350 guests to share “ideas worth spreading.”  This year, TEDxUCLA will take place on October 27, 2012.  Promising a slate of engaging speakers and ideas, our second TEDxUCLA event will not be one to miss.
