DESIGN FOR GOOD LA
Presented by Hub LA, AIGA Los Angeles, and Taproot Foundation
October 4-5, 2014 (during National Design Week!)
Let’s build off of the success of last year’s 24-Hour Design Blitz and use the power of good to help others be their best.
AIGA Los Angeles, along with Hub LA and Taproot Foundation present Design for Good LA 2014: 24-Hour Design Blitz. We’re calling on local creative professionals to lend their skills to help promote design thinking while doing good at the same time. Over the course of 24 hours, teams of professional creatives will collaborate to develop creative solutions for a number of local non-profits, selected by Taproot Foundation and chosen based on need by the AIGA Los Angeles Board of Directors and Event Programming Committee.
Design teams will be evenly mixed with different experience levels per group to encourage varying perspectives and mentorship/learning, and each team will have a senior design leader to help guide the team. Design for Good LA (DfGLA) provides an opportunity for creatives to build their skills and network while promoting the power of design thinking in a highly visible way.
Design for Good LA 2014 is open to all working professional creatives—graphic designers, illustrators, interactive experts, copywriters, photographers. Creatives can sign up to participate by filling out our online application, but hurry, there are limited spots available on teams! Participants will be chosen based on application order and the requirements of the non-profit organizations’ project briefs, and will be announced the week of September 22nd.
Breakfasts, lunch, snacks, and plenty of coffee will be provided.
