On Saturday, October 1, 2011, the non-profit L.A. Commons (www.lacommons.org)-with the mission to connect people across Los Angeles’ vast metropolis through the artistic, social and cultural projects that celebrate the unique stories of L.A.’s neighborhoods-will launch a new program called Found L.A. Found L.A. is a free, citywide event that will showcase culturally dynamic neighborhoods through tours provided by residents, celebrities and renowned artists, who volunteer to share their unique perspective. Participants will experience an after-hours “sneak peak” into the local bakery, see inside an artist’s studio, or explore a hidden alley garden. The day will culminate with a post-tour celebration of Los Angeles’ ingenuity through ethnically diverse food, music and art at Atwater Crossing.
