Prior to founding Hub Los Angeles, Nick worked as Chief of Staff to California’s Secretary of Education, guiding stakeholder dialogue on behalf Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger: among state and federal agencies; corporations; nonprofits; and foundations. During his tenure Nick oversaw public private partnerships, including the Governor’s Digital Education Initiative and served as a member of California’s Race to The Top Application Committee responsible for creating The California Office to Reform Education. Nick worked at Pegasus Capital Advisors as Chief of Staff to Bonnie Reiss before joining the Schwarzenegger Administration. His responsibilities included sourcing and analyzing investment opportunities in the sustainability sector along with executing strategic projects, such as helping to produce California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Global Climate Summits. Before joining Pegasus, Nick was selected as one of 64 Coro Fellows and trained in: communications, public speaking, group processes, self-governance, team-building, project management, and facilitation. Nick earned his Bachelor of Arts from Pitzer College in Organizational Ecology, a self-designed study of the interiors and exteriors people, organizations, and economies. Nick currently divides his time between New York City and Santa Monica and plays some mean beach soccer whenever he can.
